Rivermeadow Labradors was created when River Meadow Oak joined our family. Son of my beloved Fife, Oak proved to be everything I could have dreamt a Labrador might be. Good looking, talented, biddable, with amazing hip scores, the world was Oak’s oyster. I was the centre of Oak’s universe, he adored me, and I him - the strong bond between us was unique and unbreakable. We had a lifetime of pleasure together – in Oak’s youth we competed at gundog working tests, and he picked up on the shoot all his life. Our main hobby was Agility, where the partnership between us shone through, and we spent countless happy hours training and successfully competing around the country, gaining Oak many awards and trophies. Most of all, Oak was my soul mate and best friend, he will be irreplaceable.
Oak’s legacy lives on through his offspring. His wonderful son Fig is so like his father, in appearance and temperament, and has the same strong desire to please coupled with total honesty. Fig is a joy to share my life with.
Fig is a father himself, and his son Spruce was born in November 2018. I’m sure that Spruce will grow up to be just as an important part of Rivermeadow as his father and grandfather.
Oak’s final gift to us was his granddaughter, Paddockrose Acorn, who joins the Rivermeadow family with hopes to have a litter from her, in conjunction with her breeder, in a few years’ time.
