FT CH Endacott Soames of Riversway x Speycast Teal of Riversway
All our dogs are special, but some are more special
than others. Fife was the most special dog I am ever likely to share my
life with - my dog of a lifetime. Fun, biddable, talented, happy to
turn his paw to whatever he was asked, he was truly my best friend.
Invaluable on the picking up team, holding his own at working tests, and adoring
Agility, he really was one in a million.
Fife was my first Agility dog, and between us we
learnt the skills, and became addicted to this fun sport. The number of
rosettes proudly displayed on the wall grew and grew, and Fife even won club
trophies – beating the collies at their own game!
Fifes enthusiasm for life, and biddable temperament
remained throughout his life. Just a week before he died, he bounced
around a Veteran Agility course with a bright spark in his eye, and on final
weekend he retrieved a bird with typical Fife zest. From the day he
entered my life, until the day he died, Fife and I had so much fun together, and
he will be irreplaceable.
However Fife's legacy lives on in his offspring.
In Ash I see Fife’s natural hunting ability, his enthusiasm and stamina shining
through right until the final bird is picked at the very end of the shooting
day. And Oak is a true clone of his father, in every way a carbon copy of
Fife: I cannot believe how fortunate I am. Fife’s spirit will be forever
with me through his children.
